Carl Filpo

Carl and Mia Filpo founded CMTG in Perth in 1998 with a straightforward conviction: that organisations deserve IT infrastructure they can trust, maintained by a team that understands both the technology and the business it supports. That conviction has not changed. The business around it has grown significantly.

CMTG’s leadership team combines technical depth with business acumen built over more than 25 years of operating in the WA technology market. The people below set the direction, hold the standards, and maintain the client and vendor relationships that underpin everything the business delivers.

Video production, digital publishing, content management, broadcast workflows, and creative collaboration environments demand computing infrastructure that performs consistently and stores and transfers large volumes of data reliably. When the infrastructure does not perform, deadlines are missed and the quality of the output suffers. For businesses whose product is content, IT performance is product performance.

In accommodation and hospitality, IT is guest-facing. Property management systems, point-of-sale platforms, booking engines, payment processing, and guest Wi-Fi are operational infrastructure, not back-office tools.

Patient records, clinical notes, imaging files, referral pathways, and Medicare compliance obligations create an IT environment where security, reliability, and data residency are not optional considerations. They are professional and regulatory obligations. A practice that cannot access its clinical systems during operating hours, or that experiences a data breach affecting patient records, faces consequences that go well beyond an IT inconvenience.

Staff need reliable access to learning management systems, administrative platforms, and communication tools. Students need a consistent, secure digital environment. Administrators need to demonstrate data governance over student and staff records. And for independent schools and private colleges operating without a government IT department, the entire IT environment rests on the capability and reliability of their technology partner.

CMTG owns and operates a sovereign private cloud across two enterprise-grade WA data centres, connected by private dark fibre. AMD EPYC compute. NVIDIA GPU acceleration. IBM enterprise storage with world-record performance benchmarks.

Aged care providers operate in a highly regulated environment where the pressure on governance, compliance, and operational reliability has increased significantly following the Royal Commission.

Professional services firms, including law practices, financial advisers, accountants, and management consultants, hold sensitive client information as a matter of course.

Government bodies, government-adjacent organisations, and businesses working within the Australian public sector supply chain face IT requirements that are categorically different from most commercial environments.
