Leading IT solutions provider CMTG is pleased to announce a $1 million data centre upgrade, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high performance, secure and energy-efficient infrastructure to support the growing demands of Australian businesses.
Set for completion in the second half of this year, the major infrastructure upgrade at CMTG’s Morley site in WA, is designed to enhance speed, reliability and scalability across the Company’s core services, while improving sustainability and unlocking new opportunities for innovation.
Key components of the upgrade include the addition of high-powered computing clusters to retire legacy hardware and significantly boost processing speed, and the introduction of new Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) acceleration to enhance data analytics and accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
The refreshed data centre will feature expanded networking and storage capabilities to support growing customer workloads. It will also offer increased capacity for co-working, with improved connectivity through dark fibre networks.
As part of the upgrade, chillers will be replaced with more energy-efficient cooling systems to reduce environmental impact.
“This significant investment represents a major step forward in our growth strategy,” CMTG Managing Director Carl Filpo said.
“It ensures we can continue to provide secure and scalable solutions for our customers, while also meeting sustainability goals and supporting emerging technologies.
“By investing in high-powered computing, GPU acceleration and expanded capacity, we’re ensuring businesses have the technology they need to drive innovation, harness AI, and scale their operations with confidence.”
This announcement comes as CMTG joins the global technology community celebrating International Data Centre Day today.
The industry-led initiative aims to raise awareness of the vital role data centres play in powering the digital world and inspire the next generation of data centre professionals.
“Data centres are the backbone of our digital economy, and it’s critical we continue to invest in secure, sustainable and scalable infrastructure to meet growing demand,” Carl said.
“We’re proud to support International Data Centre Day and shine a light on the exciting opportunities available in this sector.”
