Ahead of Global MSP Day on June 6, leading IT solutions provider CMTG is highlighting a major shift in how manager service providers (MSPs) are supporting their clients as use of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to rise.
CMTG Managing Director Carl Filpo said there is a wave of MSPs moving from reactive IT support to delivering intelligent, AI-driven security platforms that proactively detect and neutralise cyber threats in real-time.
“AI is transforming cybersecurity by enabling faster, more effective threat mitigation – it is ultimately helping us stop attacks before they can impact the business,” Carl said.
“It’s no longer enough to wait and respond, we need to anticipate threats and act in real time which is where AI-driven platforms provide a major advantage.”
With cyberattacks becoming more frequent and sophisticated, businesses in sectors such as engineering, finance, insurance and training are under increasing pressure to protect sensitive data, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain operational continuity.
Carl said the future of managed services lies in tightly integrated, security-first IT strategies that evolve alongside risk and compliance demands.
“Basic IT support or off-the-shelf solutions are no-longer enough,” Carl said.
“Our clients operate in high-stakes environments where a single data breach or system failure can have severe legal, financial or reputational consequences.
“We’ve developed our managed services offering to anticipate threats before they emerge, ensuring there is sufficient compliance at every level of the business and giving our clients the confidence to grow.”
From real-time threat monitoring to secure cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity awareness training, CMTG has embedded proactive cybersecurity measures into every facet of its managed services offering.
These solutions have enabled customers to enhance compliance and security frameworks, ensuring they can continue working seamlessly with their own clients.
“We are increasingly observing larger organisations cascading security requirements to smaller partners to mitigate broader cybersecurity risks, and this trend is driving demand for our services,” Carl said.
CMTG recently supported a customer in achieving ISO 27001 certification, implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS), and completing an IRAP assessment to strengthen their eligibility for government contracts.
Another customer was supported through the ISO 27001 assessment to meet the security requirements of their banking and real estate clients.
Additionally, CMTG helped a third customer significantly enhance their overall security posture to meet the requirements of prospective clients during tender processes.
“What sets us apart from our competitors is our deep understanding of industry-specific risks and compliance frameworks,” Carl said.
“We don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions – we tailor security strategies that reflect the specific challenges our clients face.”
Looking ahead, Carl anticipates increased demand for intelligent threat response tools, integrated compliance frameworks and vendor consolidation, as businesses seek to simplify security management.
“Security must be part of a company’s foundation, not an afterthought,” Carl said.
“Our focus is on creating scalable, secure environments that help clients operate efficiently and innovate safely – whether they’re expanding into new markets, adopting AI, or managing hybrid workplaces.”
