With 2025 well underway, I would like to take this opportunity to share several transformative developments at CMTG as we continue our mission to deliver secure IT solutions to Australian businesses.
In line with our growth strategy, we are committed to investing in infrastructure and people to bolster our capabilities and better support the evolving security needs of organisations.
This year, we are making the largest infrastructure investment in a decade, with an estimated $1 million allocated to upgrading our data centre and hosting platform to support advanced customer environments including AI capabilities.
Our refreshed data centre will be equipped with enhanced data monitoring systems, increased storage, graphics and AI capable workloads, and cyber security systems, providing robust and scalable systems necessary for future growth.
Leveraging enterprise grade IBM solutions trusted by leading financial institutions, our built-in ransomware detection and protection will safeguard businesses against emerging threats.
The Windows 11 upgrade is already well underway and will equip businesses with advanced security features, performance enhancements, and productivity tools, crucial for protecting organisations against modern cyber threats.
Many of our customers have already completed the upgrade, and we are on track to finalise the remaining transitions by the October deadline imposed by Microsoft. To ensure a seamless process, CMTG has plenty of new laptops and desktops in stock and available, enabling a quick turnaround for replacement kits where needed.
To further support this transition, we have partnered with DLL to provide a flexible funding option. This will allow capital expenditure for Windows 11 upgrades and infrastructure investments to be converted into operational expenditure, offering businesses greater financial flexibility.
Another important industry update is Microsoft’s recent change to the entry threshold for Enterprise Agreements (EA). Previously, organisations with 300 or more users could qualify for an EA, but the changes mean businesses are now required to have 500 users.
Given our expertise in Microsoft licensing, CMTG can guide Australian organisations in navigating this change, ensuring they optimise their licensing spend by leveraging Microsoft offerings tailored to their size and operational needs.
Over the past three months, we have welcomed several senior expert engineers to our team. This strategic expansion is essential to meet our customers’ growing IT demands and ensures we continue providing a top-tier service. With an enhanced team, we are better equipped to provide innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of businesses.
Lastly, and excitingly, CMTG is now a WALGA-approved Information and Communications Technology supplier to local governments across Western Australia. This recognition follows our capability enhancements and additions to our private cloud services, and will expand our access to a broader range of contract opportunities.
We have a busy year ahead and I look forward to sharing further updates with our customers in due course. I believe these strategic investments will strengthen customer security and safety, providing organisations with the tools and support needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
